Luambo Family Clan

Hello fans. I apologize. I have not made a post for a while. Actually it has been four months since I have done a post. Actually my college life has been killing my time. My popularity on Facebook has not allowed me to make a real post here to make sense. Next semester in my college career, I could be working and it may lead to less time for this blog. Also I will take French classes. That does not help.

Enough of that. Actually I am going to touch a subject that I did not really want to do but doing anyway.

As you guys are aware, I am a fanatic of Franco and Pepe Kalle. I love their music and stories because I am fascinated by them.

The Grand Maitre himself

As you are aware that Franco was a controversial but a great musical talent. In my opinion, Franco was the first king of Congolese Music. I mean Modern Congolese Music. Not the original Congolese of Grand Kalle. Grand Kalle was in his own league. I have no interest of comparing Grand Kalle and Franco. Franco was in the modern group. Franco was the one who Odemba Congolese Music.

But his personal could be controversial. He had a younger and only brother. His name can be identified as Bavon Marie Marie
He looked very happy on this picture

I am not really to talk too much about Bavon Marie Marie as they are so many stories about him. Life and death alike. I will say this. He was a younger brother of Franco. He joined Orchestre Negro Success in 1964 when the group was stinking after the departure of Vicky Longomba who left the band in 1962 to rejoin Franco and his OK Jazz. Actually it was said that Bavon wanted to pair with Tabu Ley but Franco never allowed that to even be possible. He died in 1970 after a car accident. His fiance never quite recovered.

Here comes I discover.

Franco has at least (I mean at least 19 children). But he only had one boy. His name is Yves Emongo Luambo. He resides in Kinshasa and Brussels.
Here is Yves Luambo himself

Bavon Marie Marie actually has a child as well. The mother I believe probably is the fiance. I am not sure. But he does have a son. In fact he is his own person. Here is the son.
His name is Bavon Aime Siongo.

So basically I am aware of these two men in life now. As a Franco fan, this is interesting and important to hear. As for how did I find out. It actually came from a older woman who knew the fiance of Bavon. Won't say here name. But here her words

Bomoni mme Bavon oyo asalaki naye accident

Marie.

English translation of her words
U SEE THIS IS THE PERSON WHO HAD ACCIDENT WITH BAVON ON THE DAY BAVON DIED: M.JOSE SIMPLICE. JUST LEFT US 2 WKS AGO. THIS HOW IT HAPPENED:BAVON WAS JELOUS OVER THIS WOMAN,THEN WHEN HE WAS DRIVING, HE WAS BEATING AND ARGUING WITH THE WOMAN. HE TOLD HER WE GO SO THAT U GIVE ME MY CHILD. THE CHLD WAS IN KITAMBO AT HER BROTHER'S (SIONGO) IN HER GRANDMAS (MUM TO THE SAID WOMAN) HOME. THE ARGUMENT WAS INTENSE THAT BAVON DIDNT NOTICE A LORRY PARKED BY THE ROADSIDE NEAR COSBAKI BAR ON THE WAY TO KINTAMBO. THATS WHERE THEY RAMMED INTO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LORRY AND BAVON DIED. THE LADY SUSTAIN INJURY ON LEG AND RECOVERED AFTER A YEAR . ON THE RIGHT IS FRERE AIME SIONGO, BAVON ' S SON WHO WAS THE SUBJECT OF THE HEATED PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT

This is how I came to find Aime Siongo.

They have a cousin that is largely unknown in the most of the music community. He is called Umberto Luambo. Or more known as Humberto Luambo. From Humberto himself

Humberto Luambo is a guitar player who actually throw shows in France to perform songs of the more Congolese Odemba Music and some other music. He is also a promoter for his own shows and does some presentation of old events in the Congo. I mean DRC Congo. Not Congo (well of Brazza).

Here is some clips of Humberto Luambo himself.

Here comes Emongo Luambo. Yves Emongo Luambo that is. Actually he is a organizer now. He and his sister Sonya do organizations for their father's group OK Jazz. In fact they are trying to revamp Le TPOK Jazz into the new generation. More like my generation whom some actually like their dad's music including myself btw. In fact there is a TPOK Jazz band based in Kinshasa (new OK Jazz not the original). One of the front people behind this work alongside Emongo is one of the sons of Djo Mpoyi. He is known as Eric Mpoyi.
Also they are trying get revamp of the old club "Un-Deux-Trois" which a Franco club that came from 1972 up to 1987.

In fact Emongo talked about this plan in this recent documentary of Franco "King of Rumba".

Now I get into Aime Siongo. What he is today. Actually unlike the other two, he has taken a different. In fact he has no connection to Secular Music. He is actually a pastor. A ordained minister preacher I might add. He is a pastor and his job to speak on the word of God (Jesus Christ). He is also a speaker who goes to other churches to speak on God and his grace. If you believe in God, you may like him. Who knows. He resides in Brussels, Belgium.

Here some clips of him.

Soon, I will touch on me and others revamping OK Jazz outside Kinshasa.
