We have two part post that I have been wanting to do but had no chance. I am sorry for the long delay. I had so many things to do that I did not have a chance to do this. Where Franco defeats Pepe Kalle 1) The better leaderFranco had a capacity to have leadership that no one else could have ever had. Franco was able to combine some big talents into OK Jazz. Think about Ntesa Dalienst, Josky Kiambukuta, Madilu System, Rondot Kasongo, Papa Noel, Michelino, Dizzy Mandjeku, and many others. Pepe Kalle was never able to do that. He already had a set of musicians before he got other talents but they were not big shots except Djodjo Ikomo who played for Franco's OK Jazz. Very interesting. But Franco was able to make his mark in Congolese music more as a leader and not just a solo star. 2) Bigger Star While I argue some of Pepe Kalle's best work was outside of Empire Bakuba but Franco's solo or nzingnzong was much better than Pepe Kalle. I mean after all, Franco's work with Ta…
Now I am doing one big thing that I never wanted to do but I am doing now since I have been asked to and I feel like is a bit controversial.
Here it is
FRANCO vs PEPE KALLE
FRANCO KING OF RUMBA REI DA RUMBA ROI DE LA RUMBA REY DE LA RUMBA MOKONZI YA RUMBA MFALME WA RUMBA
PEPE KALLE KING OF SOUKOUS REI DO SOUKOUS ROI DU SOUKOUS REY DEL SOUKOUS MOKONZI YA SOUKOUS MFALME WA SOUKOUS
Franco and Pepe Kalle are the kings. Franco is first and Pepe Kalle is second
ENGLISH I will cover this controversial topic of two people whom I consider the Congolese Music kings. Rumba and Soukous. I call Franco to be the "First King" which is Rumba. Second King which is Soukous, I say we name Pepe Kalle. Franco is first because he has the best Congolese music genre which is Rumba. Rumba and Soukous were started from Grand Kalle. Eventually these two genres became their own. While Franco beats Pepe Kalle in many things but they are areas where Pepe Kalle beats Franco.
This is the dream duet that would be the excellent example of "international cross-over". These two artists are very like in many ways. They both have many fans that are nut heads in some case.
I am speaking about American Latino Star Jennifer Lopez and Congolese Big Shot Koffi Olomide.
Jennifer Lopez is known as a diva star who has a nice booty and she has made some amazing pop songs. Before she became a incredible sex symbol and the hot woman she is seen as by many, she was a fly dancer for the show "In Living Color" which included big stars like Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans, and Jamie Foxx. She was a backup dancer for the Janet Jackson the little sister of late King of pop Michael Jackson. This was a short live moment as Jennifer had ambitions to be a big star herself. For a years before her big movie Selena, she was in films but she had little to no success. Jennifer Lopez was having issues as a young inspiring entertainer. Back in 1986-90 period, she was strugglin…
