I have a female edition of a Dream Quartet. This is the first one. More will be coming. I am speaking of Celine Dion, Emmylou Harris, Mariah Carey and Sheryl Crow. These women would be perfect together as a quartet. Because they are singers in their department. Emmylou is of country blues music while Sheryl is with pop country with Mariah with a hip hop element and Celine Dion as a pop icon. If these women could come together, you will see beautiful music get made. Because these women have something in common. These are emotional singers and they love to put a little raspyness in their voices. Also three of them have strong vibratos which is popular with a lot of people. Also I do believe that they would fit well into a harmonious sound as four female singers. I know how it likely be arranged. Celine Dion as the soprano (high one) Emmylou Harris as the contralto Mariah Carey as the mezzo soprano Sheryl Crow as the soprano (medium one) I am sure it would be a great quartet set for female fans since they would love to hear two female singers together alongside with four singers. It could have sounded like this. This video has Indigio Girls with Jewel and Sarah McLachlan.
I know this quartet will never happen but if it does happen, I hope that it will sound great and that people will come and listen to their beautiful voices together.
I had a big dream that we would have a event that we would have a show that would consist of three great divas together. I mean Hip Hop R&B folks. They were three stars that were hot during the 1990s. I mean going about Faith Evans, Mariah Carey, and Mary J Blige. These three divas were special acts during the 1990s. And their voices are completely different from one another.
Faith Evans and Mary J Blige were part of the Bad Boy Crew whom was added by P Diddy. Mariah Carey was with controversial prodcuer Tony Molleta.
They all have many things in common. They were put on a spot. They went through a lot of challenges. Mary J Blige had her drug addiction. Mariah Carey was somewhat under huge control of Tony. Faith Evans was a in a toxic marriage with rapper Biggie Smalls. Now we are the 2010 era. These three stars are not quite as big as they were during the 1990s and 2000s especially the period of the 1990s. I think it is time to get an attempt of getting these three divas together. They have never had a conflict and always were in good terms. I mean they have had positive things to say about each other. But it would also be good because there was a conflict between Faith Evans and Lil Kim. As Kim hated Evans a lot especially since Lil Kim played in a role in the dysfunctional marriage with Biggie Smalls. Ever since the end of Biggie Smalls's life, they have been on bad terms but apparently they are good. But I doubt it, they would just rather not hate each other. Recently they were part of a bad boy reunion in the 2015 Bet awards but they did not perform together. No surprise there. I still think they hate each-other but they would rather not make a big fuss about it. But still, this collaboration needs to happen. If these three stars come together, I believe all the older hip hop fans would be banging to this song that they would make it. I can assure you that it would be a great time for everyone. Just important that I would let you know this.
I am happy to leave the best for last. Because this is the dream duet I believe would have been a great moment in music in American History. Two powerful female singers who can meld their aggressive sounds together.
I am saving the best for last. I am going into two of favorite female singers. Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. These are the two singers that would have been great not only on some records but even make a collaboration album. They were made for each other. I have too many reasons why they should be duet partners but imagine hearing Mariah's lovely feminine voice and then get the more passionate emotional Celine, you got a song that would move you. I think they could have made some incredible R&B and other slow songs together because their voices would fit into something mellow and lovely.
I also know that when you put these two singers together, you could have unexpected magic. Also it fits since they are different people. Mariah loves the spotlight while Celine is open but very more musical. That in my view is perfect. Because you can take Mariah's addiction of fame and Celine's pure love of music into a song that would move you and make you just appreciate music as it is. But here is one artist they are both fans of: Ne-Yo They have both worked with the great R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo. Ne-Yo is known as one singer that helped artists such as Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige, Monica, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Mario and others. Mariah Carey did a song with Ne-Yo on a song called Angels Cry. It was a popping love song. I enjoyed it a lot when I first heard of this song.
Ne-Yo made a nice pop sound duet with Celine Dion on a song called Incredible. This song is definitely a club banger. Celine Dion sounds perfect.
I think one way that a great duet could be made between Celine Dion and Mariah Carey is have the songwriting and lyrics from Ne-Yo himself. Make sure he can be able to make the song for Celine and Mariah to be able to make the song or songs powerful. Here are some Mariah performances I enjoy
Here are some Celine's performances I love
I can say those performances show you how great they are. I think they could have more power if they team up and make some records together. I believe this duet is more probable than most of the dream duets that I can imagine. I am fortunate to both hear their voices and know their music as much as I can. There are some songs of other artists and themselves that I believe would have fitted Mariah Carey and Celine Dion together.
Immortality
I'll Be There (The Mariah Carey version)
I still believe
The way it is
Always be my baby
What's Going On (Marvin Gaye)
Angel (Aretha Franklin)
You've got a friend (Carol King)
Imagine (John Lennon) I will end by saying that if there is one duet that needs happen is seeing the vocals of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey in a great song. This is a duet I think would make the most sense. This dream duet would make sense totally. Later on, I will look for more songs or causes of I want to see a duet of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. This is one of the dream duets that I really hold to my heart.
Hello my followers and friends alike. I am hoping you are having a amazed time in your lives. Luckily, I have managed to find some amazing duets. Now I am going to do another dream duet. I am going to do five before the end of March.
I am speaking of Shana Twain and Mariah Carey. These two divas would have been a good duo. Shania Twain is one of the few Country singers that have successfully crossed over to other field where people have no choice but to give her respect. No wonder why when Taylor Swift did more fully, she is a international star and people want to take her out. Mariah Carey loves Hip Hop but she is always been opened to some other music beside the ones that she enjoyed. Mariah Carey and Shania Twain would have been a perfect duo for some reasons. 1) They are from different genres 2) They both love to be show offs. 3) They are able to meld with anyone. When I listen to their voices, I can see some notable differences. Mariah's voice is a more soft and tender while Shania's voice is more raunchy and aggressive. To end this, I got two songs that would have been great for Shania and Mariah to sing their voices together.
Here we go with one duet that makes the most sense and the one that would have made some Hip Hop DJs, R&B fans and Gangstas enjoy alike all together.
If I were a nice thug, and I wanted two R&B female singers to make some hits, I kick to Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige who is considered the Queen of Hip Hop Soul in which I agree 100 percent. She was the first R&B artist to really incorporate hip hop successfully into R&B. Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige would have been made for each other because their voices are different but aggressive. Mary's vocals tend to be more manly with Mariah's vocals tend to be more feminine sound. But they are both passionate singers.
I give some Mary J songs.
I give some Mariah Carey songs
Those songs are great but here two songs from them that would have been better if they sang it together.
The songs No More Drama and Fantasy would have been better sounded if they crossed paths and sang it together. Just my opinion. Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige should come together and make some records and that way some hip hop fans would be bouncing their heads to their vocals.
Since hearing about American Idol revamping the judges after a dismal decline during the 2012 season, I have decided to put my own imput on this situation.
I think the idea of having one female judge and two male judges is a stupid idea to me as it has not always worked out. I mean yes we did have Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul together but it lasted 7 seasons before Paula left the show. American Idol has been going a major decline since the original judges Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. Just this season has lost audience though it still had success. It is sad as this show is losing its thunder.
Here is the good news. American Idol got the legendary diva name Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey is a great singer and she has a incredible voice.
Now here is what I want. I want three judges but with two females with Mr. Bass man Randy Jackson. Here are the female judges. Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.
It may be a crazy idea but I feel this idea would be a excellent idea. Here is why. Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are two different personalities. Celine Dion is a excellent nice personality who wants to encourage people to become better singers and have strong voices that are cool. Mariah Carey is someone who is bold and is honest and wants to tell the truth to the singers so they can develop a thick skin. Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are two people I think can really remake the American Idol.
I got the great value of Mariah Carey's great voice and her known thing that got her pretty much all her recognition: WHISTLE REGISTER. Now you wonder what it is huh, well you wonder what the hell is a whistle register? Well it is a whistle that is basically singing sound. It mean you yell whistle. That is the Whistle Register. It was popularized by the likes of Minnie Riperton. But one person who used it a lot and got fame for it alone was and is Mariah Carey. This woman used this throughout her career. It got her some great recognition. It made her so popular. I mean Mariah used this a lot on some of her records. It made her a legend. The value of Mariah Carey's whistle register is very high. I enjoy it because it makes Mariah stand out from her rest of her generation. The value of Mariah's whistle register is good because that is also the way she was able to make some valuable performances as well as duets. It led to her being able to keep going as a singer. That is why the value of Mariah's Whistle Register is so key for Carey herself. Here is some collection from Carey's Whistle Register
Now I am making my new post on something else. This subject comes back to female artist since this month is about them. Why put four pictures together in one post. What do they have common? They were all known female artists who were influenced by Aretha Franklin. I made a post about Aretha earlier this month (Aretha Franklin Importance). Now I have four girls I say had Aretha's sound. I am speaking of Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and late Whitney Houston. These four female artists are very loved artists but clearly had some influence from Aretha Franklin and they applied her voice in their own way. Mary J Blige brought more the soul aspect with often her emotional state. She made songs where she was angry and she sang her soul out. Her strong soulful singing was clearly helpful it was able to make her quite a unique character. She is someone who had more the soul element that made her music known. Whitney Houston was someone who just loved to sing and she clearly used Aretha's voice to bring just singing element to her music. Everyone knows her rendition of Dally Parton's song "I will always love you", and she just brought her strong voice out and it became her known legendary song. Whitney Houston was someone who loved to sing whenever she was in the mood to sing. Celine Dion had a more opera like singing when comes to combining with Aretha's voice. Many people describe her voice as so angel like. That is because of her song for the Titanic fil soundtrack, "My Heart Will Go On". Her voice sounded perfect in that song. She has a more raunchy soft soul voice combining Aretha's influence in her singing. Mariah Carey has a more soulful but a verstile voice which also involves a whistle register which made her very famous. Mariah Carey's vision of love carries this example as Mariah brings her voice and then does the register whistle. She did that a lot during her career. These four girls all had influence from Aretha Franklin. Which one is better? That is up to you. You need to make your own choice. It will be interesting what people will say.
This month is Women's History Month and I should done this on my first post but I did not. Forgive me for that. I am now going to dedicate some great female artists of the whole world to the history month. If there is one artist that is so legenedary but has not exactly got her dues is no other than Aretha Franklin. Many people seem to think that Aretha Franklin is overrated because her song RESPECT gets played way too much. Well I make my view on the Queen of Soul. Actually Aretha Franklin is somewhat underrated artist. Here is why. If you see, many people consider other female artists as pioneers but refuse to make Aretha Franklin as a pioneer. If you ask most people, if they knew a old artist who they do they know? The answers are often Diana Ross, Patti Labelle, Janis Joplin, and the likes of them but it is extremely rare for people to mention Aretha Franklin as a pioneer of music of females (That is unless you refer to the black community who dig soul music a lot). Why do you ask? Well it is not that complicated. Not many people get why Aretha is so legendary. Many people seem to believe that she is a major one hit wonder probably because of the overuse of her great song RESPECT. But Respect is not just another song. It has a message which was that a woman like her deserve repsect for being a woman. At that time during the late 1960s, women were being discriminated and were not allowed to do anything. Thank Jesus that has changed. As one person said, "It is a man's world, It is a man's world. But it would be nothing without a woman". Let me put in French and Lingala, "Ezali la monde du l'homme, Ezali la monde du l'homme. MaisIlne serait rien sans l'femme." That is true whether brainless man get it or not. Respect was a Aretha song that pretty much played a factor in getting women being able to work and do stuff for a living not just a man. Aretha Franklin made many great songs especially the song Chain of Fools which I already talked about here (Aretha Franklin Classic Song). The song showed Aretha Franklin's great ability ro sing well and do other ways to make her singing as perffect as possible. This is no wonder Aretha had a great voice then. But Aretha sadly suffered from the same issues. I mean labels who are evil. She fell out with Atlantic Records in 1973 which led to her major decline during the 1970s. Changes also occured. Female facts like LaBelle, Diana Ross, and others were having more success than Aretha Frnaklin. 1980s was Aretha's great decade as she made great songs as well as great albums leading her to promise of continued success. But in 1990s, once again Aretha fell because of age we can presume. This time it was artists like Gloria Estefan, Mariah Carey, Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, and soon Celine Dion grew to ruin Aretha's star and she was another artist in the block. But despite Aretha not being Aretha she used to be, she still has a great voice and conintues to perform. Do not get me wrong, Janis Joplin, Diana Ross, and Patti LaBelle are great artists in their own right and they made an imapct and open doors for female artists but none of them as great as a singer and none are unique as Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Aretha brought her own sound in the music and it has touched many lives. She really connected with the Civil Rights Movement better than other female artists. Plus this woman's song Respect will never be forgotten for a long time. My point is that Aretha Franklin needs more respect for her hard work and her years of making songs that were not only relatable but had a great message behind it. Aretha Franklin did everything she could to make great music. People need to get to know Aretha Franklin, you will see how unique she is.
