Happy 80th Birthday to Massiya Lutumba Simaro Ndomanueno. I am going to give my post celebrating. It is about Franco, Pepe Kalle and Simaro Some people know that I like Franco and Pepe Kalle a lot. Yes they are my favorite artists in Congolese music. They are able to impress people. But I have said that Franco and Pepe Kalle are gret on their own. But if Franco and Pepe Kalle were together in OKJ, another person who would have benefited. SIMARO LUTUMBA NDOMANUENO. How would Pepe Kalle have fitted in OKJ. It would have been so good. Why you ask? Because think of Madilu, look how both Franco and Simaro were able to use him and how much Madilu adapted to their demands. So when they had Madilu as the one to lead the song, it was constant gold. But now Imagine Pepe Kalle instead of Madilu in OKJ. It would been perfect for Franco and Simaro. In spite of Pepe Kalle being a big name, he would have been perfect under the arm of Franco and Simaro. Pepe Kalle has one thing that Madilu did not quite have. He was vocal nurturer. If you listen to Pepe Kalle like I do, you would notice that he knew how to nurture people's wild voices. Think about Likinga Redo, Rigo Star, Papy Tex, Nyboma and Dilu Dilumona. He was a nurturer to them and that is why they were so comfortable with him. Simaro would have enjoyed Pepe Kalle's services in OKJ a lot especially the fact he was able to adapt Simaro's demands in singing. Also Pepe Kalle understood Simaro's emotion behind the music a lot. Think of the songs like Maya the second version. I mean he blew me away on he sang with Carlyto. Pepe Kalle would have been a good adapter to Simaro's music. But Franco would also have benefited as well. He would have loved and appreciated Pepe Kalle's nurturing voice. I mean Ntesa said that Franco wanted his music to kind of going along with Bakuba Mayopi and Pepe Kalle sound. If Pepe Kalle had went to OKJ, he would have given Franco some needed boost. I know Franco would have had a better harmony with a Pepe Kalle. Case in point the song La Vie des hommes. Madilu and Franco were amazing together in that song. They had a unique connection and they really sealed their harmony together. But if Pepe Kalle had sung that song, it would have been more fire. Pepe Kalle would bring a new type of emotion that would have touched people much more. Franco probably would have been more animated. Pepe Kalle would probably played the nurturer role with Franco's wild voice. I am sure Franco would sang Madilu's note while Franco's note would have been done by Pepe Kalle. Also think of another song. Tres Impoli. That song would have been benefited with Pepe Kalle's smooth baritone. Franco, Ntesa and Pepe Kalle together would have made a nice beautiful sound with their harmony. I could imagine a moment where Pepe Kalle comes in and does one or two harmony with Franco's voice. The song would have had some improvement with Pepe Kalle's baritone. Franco and Simaro would have enjoyed the services of Pepe Kalle and Pepe Kalle would have been a good nurturer for Franco's voice and a given Simaro song.
Now I am doing one big thing that I never wanted to do but I am doing now since I have been asked to and I feel like is a bit controversial. I call Franco to be the "First King" which is Rumba. Second King which is Soukous, I say we name Pepe Kalle. Franco is first because he has the best Congolese music genre which is Rumba. Rumba and Soukous were started from Grand Kalle. Eventually these two genres became their own. While Franco beats Pepe Kalle in many things but they are areas where Pepe Kalle beats Franco. Some people wonder why I am such a Franco and Pepe Kalle fanatic or a better one: Why do I love Franco and Pepe Kalle so much? Or what is my real name or Why do I call myself FrancoPepe Kalle?
Well those who want to know why my main nickname is FrancoPepe Kalle, you better hear this story from me.
OK, well it started back in 2007 when I was getting bullied by many of my colleagues. Before I used to be a big time Clan Wenge fan (I still am though) and I used to love Papa Wemba big time and I used to hear primarily urban music (hip hop & R&B). I would sometimes sing some R&B music and hip hop music because I was so into it back then but people would insult and call me a phony headed fool. I was so mad and I continued. People said to me to stop listening to new music and new stuff because I was ruining those records. I was so mad. It led to some heated arguments where I was slaughtering everyone and I was mocking others for dicing me. I did some rapping degrading other people. I said afterwhile, I had enough of this and it got childish. I also did less hearing of Papa Wemba and Clan Wenge.
So I decided to hear some old school Congolese music and for some reason, I started liking these two people much more than I expected. They were Grand Maitre Franco and Giantafrique Pepe Kalle. These two men I would become obessesed over. With Franco, I would be addicted to hearing Kimpa Kisangani, Mario, Fabrice, Mamou, 12,600 Letters, Tres Impoli, and Les Rumeurs. As you see I loved Franco's 1980s records big time. The song that always stook out from Franco was Fabrice. It was a recorded that was never made like Franco made it. The way he talked and dialogued about Fashion is quite blunt and real. That is a good thing. I mean that is quite something that was a unique thing in my view. Franco's guitar playing also stood to me. I mean the way Franco played his solos were very fierce and were Grand Master like. I would sometimes act like a moronic kid and I felt that I did some stuff as a Franco. I would cry sometimes when seeing Franco because he died before I was born. Franco also was real in his songs and sometimes he spoke about the very flaws of society and knew how hard life was as he was a streetboy himself. That is why I am such a Franco fanatic.
With Pepe Kalle, it started when I decided to hear soukous I felt was blocked by other people. So I did. I was so happy hearing some Pepe Kalle records. For me with Pepe Kalle, it was Roger Milla, Pon Moun Paka Bouge, Moyibi, Johnny Bitoto, Article 15, Mama Leki Ndeya, Guy Guy Mandimba, Young Africa, and Gerant. These songs made me so into Pepe Kalle. I felt that Pepe Kalle's soukous was more unique than even Clan Wenge. Pepe Kalle just made soukous something bigger and better. Pon Moun Paka Bouge, you had something where Pepe Kalle could sing and animate at the same time. It was a genius for my opinion. Pepe Kalle was the entertainer throughout the song. Roger Milla was always one of my favorite songs. As I kid, I used to always jump and act like a total moron. Another thing I found interesting about Pepe Kalle, he was one of the best lead singers I have seen for a while. Pepe Kalle was a great musician. Because I had found some uniqueness of Pepe Kalle also due to his understanding of life and how he was for the underclass in society. That explains why I am a Pepe Kalle fanatic.
Because of these, I would be into Franco and Pepe Kalle so often in my life. By 2011, I decided that it was time to make my known nickname known as FrancoPepe Kalle. I am convinced that Franco and Pepe Kalle are the Kings of Congolese Music. I listen to music in general but I am more into Franco and Pepe Kalle.
What is so interesting to me as a person is that I have always been asked or told about this. I was asked this: WHY AM I NOT EXCITED ABOUT ANYTHING? Well, there are numerous reasons why I am never excited for anything.
Let me make it simple. As I indicated on my previous post here (HAPPY BEING DIFFERENT), I a very different from most of my colleagues. I am really different from them. I have very little to no friends. Also don't forget that I am very unpopular and I have been called so many names. Plus there is nothing to be excited about really.
Here is when I am ACTUALLY excited about something. I am excited when I can spend time with my family. Great example is when I have my birthday, I don't demand a big party but a simple party with my family. I am excited when I get to spend time with my daddy because that is where good things occur with me. I am excited when I speak to notable personnels. I am excited when I get to play with my siblings because life is too short and I need to have them have joy to have me have joy too.I am excited when I can be alone and hear great music and show music to you guys. Those are the things that I am actually excited about.
One thing I never get that excited about is meeting my colleagues. Why I do say this? Well to be honest, most of my colleagues are dumb and narrow minded. See I am very unpopular because I am so differnt from them. One particular example, is that most of my colleagues say that mental people are the worst people but I have deep compassion for them. In fact I would rather be with them then most of my moronic fool colleagues.
Being different and having my own identity is a essiential thing of being a human being. This is why I am a happy person being lonely. That is why.
Anyway I will leave my post with a great song from Theo Blaise Kounkou. He made a great song. Check it here Mwana Djambala
I have found another interesting question to myself which is something important? I ask this: WHAT IS IT ABOUT ME?
Well I have found out that people have huge misconceptions about me.
One of them is that I am a musician and that I have my own band. What type of thinking is that. Yep you hear people saying that I am a musician. Also people that I am actually FRANCO PEPE KALLE. What is this. Many others think I am a music promoter.
Let me set things straight. First of all, Franco Pepe Kalle is a personality name of mine, not a real one. Also I am not a musician nor a promoter. I am a youtuber and blogger who just wants to show the uniqueness of Franco and Pepe Kalle. I am also a student. If you want my real name, well you going to have to email me through two emails which are either grandmaitregiantafrique@gmail.com or FrancoPepeKalle@aol.com. There if you want my real name then I will tell you my real name. However one thing is true: I am a Congolese American.
Hello to my dear friends from all over the world (USA, Congo (DRC and Brazzaville), Colombia, Peru, Kenya, Tanzania, United Kingdom, France, Austraila) and etc. I am here to talk more on life in general today too.
Well where I live, I get tons of questions. The thing I want people to know about me is that I am not a popular man. I am not a popular person. I have a very complicated life. My family has endured so much abuse. My family has endured a lot of hate from some people. My parents are my great friends and I will thank them for my success. I am a student after all, I have made some dumb decisions which is why I appericiate my parents even more. I am a grateful man and I enjoy my parents at a lot. I am often asked why I am not popular like my brother or why am I not popular? It is a tough question to be honest and It has taken time to answer but I do have something to say.
Let me get started on this and I am about to make a statement that may get me in big trouble but I am going to say it anyway. I am so happy that I am different. I have a enjoyment of being different. I am a person who is way different from let's just say very stupid misguided classmates.
I make this statement because I am beginning to see the goodness of being different from everyone else. I see this because I have made some statements and most of my colleagues are angry and hate on me for being "DIFFERENT".
One of them is being a proud virgin. I have some sexual fantasies that pop up from time to time but I have managed to control in may ways I did not think I could but I did. What happened was that I was being diced for not fucking a woman on Valetine's day. I decided to make a bold statement saying that I could care less if someone had sex because it is not my business to know in the first place. I said that I would make with someone with some honey and rose because I like those two together. It makes a perfect way for sex but I will do that once I AM ACTUALLY MARRIED. I got a lot of flack and surprinsingly some good back up. One person even pointed out that he did sex too and he lost himself and that Jesus said that sex was meant to be for marriage. Amen to that man for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Because of that incident, I felt somewhat guilty for saying that and many people gave me so much hate and anger towards me that I was beginning to feel like a total failure and I began feeling like I was being a nobody.
But as always it makes me better. Now I feel like a happy determined man. Also, I have realized one thing: Being very from everyone is really a blessing. This means I can discover my own self and not having to waste energy on other people.
For example, most of my colleagues are just clowns. They have millions and millions of friends and links around them. Also what they talk about is so usual and annoying too. As one of my misguided collaegues says "SEX AND ROCK & ROLL". Such a clushsay huh. Whatever, it means nothing to me.
While I don't have either of those stuff but I do have something: A youtube account, a family (a good one), and of course my blog. Here I am different from most of my stupid colleagues. Here generally I talk music of my kind which is usually Urban and African. Urban like R&B, Soul, and Hip Hop. African like Congolese Music generally. So I dig those music more than let's say ROCK and ROLL.
I happen to be a big fan of Two Congolese Greatest Stars ever name Franco and Pepe Kalle. These two are the King of Congolese Music. Franco is the Rumba King and Pepe Kalle is the Soukous King. These two men make me so happy when I hear their music so much. I appericate their music a lot. Because of that is why I name myself FrancoPepe Kalle.
Also I am a open minded person though at times I can be stubborn. For example, I used to not care for some Colombian stuff. But because I kept an open mind to that life, something occured. When I found out that Joe Arroyo passed away, I intially did not care until I heard his songs. There for some reason I felt some connection to him and I began wanting to hear more Joe Arroyo. Thanks to my love for Joe Arroyo and some Colombians now I have some connection. I have some Colombian friends. See what can happen, keep open mind and good things occur.
My point is that I am so happy that I am different from everyone and I have a great family. I am grateful for what I actually have. While most of my classmates are whining and complain about not having enough, I am grateful for a few things I got. I will never be part of a group but I will continue to do what I can to live and do I what do which is be a student and be a blogger. Have a nice day.
