Announcement: Dream Duet all for Celine Dion in February
Now if you love Celine Dion, you will love this news.
I am announcing this for everyone to get. For the month of February, I am going to give one person a focus on all five duets.
Celine Dion. Why? This year has been hard on her. She has been going through a lot.
Also, I love Celine Dion too much. I am a big fan of her songs and more importantly her voice. Her voice is special and it gives me joy to hear each and each time I listen.
I know a lot of singers that I believe need to sing with this woman. Because I believe that Celine Dion would benefit singing with other singers.
Next month, you will see who I think needs to do a duet with Celine Dion themselves.
Wait and see.
Dream Duet: Celine Dion and Josky Kiambukuta
Another edition of "International Cross-Over".
I can actually imagine these two people singing together. Plus they have so much nurtures with their voices.
I am thinking about Canadian legend star Celine Dion and Congolese musical legend Josky Kiambukuta.
These two people I believe would the two people capable of singing together. Because Josky is a very diverse singer. He can sing high notes, medium notes and low notes and not have a problem at all.
Here is a little known fact, unlike most Canadian stars, Celine Dion actually knows French. Don't believe me, just hear this recent performance back in November in honor of the Paris Attacks.
Her voice in that video is so strong and emotional and her French is just like water.
Josky Kiambukuta could sing French very well though most of his songs are done in Lingala. But when Josky gave his French lines, it was magical and special.
Which is why I actually would love to see Celine Dion and Josky Kiambukuta sing together. Their French words together would magical and people would be oozed by their words and emotions as well.
Celine and Josky had emotional means to catch your heart and your mind. You would just sleep and say how luck you are that these two singers exist and their voices are the way they are.
These are the reasons why I believe Celine Dion and Josky Kiambukuta should have or should make music together.
This duet goes with another message I am going to do.
Dream Duet: Jennifer Lopez and Koffi Olomide
This is the dream duet that would be the excellent example of "international cross-over". These two artists are very like in many ways. They both have many fans that are nut heads in some case.
I am speaking about American Latino Star Jennifer Lopez and Congolese Big Shot Koffi Olomide.
Jennifer Lopez is known as a diva star who has a nice booty and she has made some amazing pop songs. Before she became a incredible sex symbol and the hot woman she is seen as by many, she was a fly dancer for the show "In Living Color" which included big stars like Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans, and Jamie Foxx. She was a backup dancer for the Janet Jackson the little sister of late King of pop Michael Jackson. This was a short live moment as Jennifer had ambitions to be a big star herself. For a years before her big movie Selena, she was in films but she had little to no success. Jennifer Lopez was having issues as a young inspiring entertainer. Back in 1986-90 period, she was struggling to find her ideal roles and her desires were going no where as she was barely getting by. Might explain her song Jenny in the Block. In 1991, she started to find her ground into her entertainment life as a backup dancer for one big pop group. That was New Kids on the Block. From there, Jennifer would eventually find her way before her big album On the 6 came out which was in 1999. Since that album, Jennifer Lopez has become such a big star and many admire and envy her as well.
Koffi Olomide is known as a big Congolese star today and he is consider one big giant person of Congolese music. He is also considered "a sex symbol". Ladies love him to death and men admire his greatness. I argue that Koffi is the "Tabu Ley of his age". In fact Tabu Ley and Koffi have a similarities except from the beginnings. This is where Koffi comes in now alone. In fact Koffi Olomide is very educated unlike most Congolese musicians. He got a degree in Science which could explain why he was a great lyricist. Koffi was a big fan of Franco and Tabu Ley, he wanted to play for either of them. Problem was that neither of them especially Koffi's Tabu Ley wanted him. That turned to be sour for Koffi Olomide. This could explain why Koffi is so arrogant at times. One person who did accept would now his big enemy. Papa Wemba. Papa Wemba incorporated the young Koffi into Viva La Musica where also Kester Emeneya would enter the picture. I spoke about Koffi Olomide, Kester Emeneya and Papa Wemba sour relations.
FPK's Round- Kester vs Koffi vs Wemba
However Koffi Olomide would have very little success. I mean success where he would find big international fame. He was singing with people like Kester Emeneya and Josky Kiambukuta for some time before he finally found it officially on his Papa Bonheur work which finally gave Koffi a big boast. Since then, he eventually became MOPAO MOKONZI. He would work with Papa Wemba on their big collaboration "Wake Up".
Jennifer Lopez and Koffi Olomide have somethings in common like a big one: It took them years and I mean YEARS before they found their fame. Also, they are deeply deeply arrogant people. They thrive on controversy. With Koffi, it is documented. He feuded with folks like Sam Tshintu who played for Koffi, Fally Ipupa who also played for Koffi, Nyoka Longo, Kester Emeneya, and of course his former boss Papa Wemba. Jennifer Lopez has known to bark with others especially Mariah Carey. For some reason, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey hate each other so deeply. Apparently, Mariah said that she did not "know" Jennifer Lopez which actually killed Mariah's star and helped increase Jennifer's popularity.
Which is actually why I say that these two stars should work together. Let me explain. See both stars love the international spotlight more than their own spotlight in their respective countries. IT IS A FACT. Koffi has been working with other African artists to get some youth to know him and like him. IT HAS WORKED. Jennifer Lopez worked with Brazilian hot shot Claudia Leitte for a World Cup song. Now Jennifer Lopez has even more popularity in Brazil than she has had before.
This is the ideal scenario for me. Jennifer Lopez and Koffi Olomide are perfect for each other. Both are arrogant and they are sex symbols. Why have them make a song where it is a more pop song where Jennifer can sing English and Spanish while Koffi can sing in Lingala and English and they can show affection towards each other. I know men and women alike would love it. I mean reasonable affection. Also where Jennifer and Koffi can dance their styles together in their respective songs. Get a Jennifer Lopez song and get a Koffi Olomide and they can show appreciation for each other.
Another reason and final one is that Koffi Olomide confessed his love for Jennifer Lopez back in 2001. He did a interview with one of my favorite African musical reporters and former radio host Martin Sinnock. He told Martin in some affect, Koffi was very fond of Jennifer Lopez and he considered her as a gift to us. That was the main point behind Koffi's comment. I am not sure what he exactly said but that is how I got from Koffi's comments about Jennifer Lopez.
I say this: Jennifer Lopez and Koffi Olomide should do some collaborations together. They are perfect for each other.
Dream Duet: Babyface and Maxwell
I know many people like to see R&B stars like male R&B stars do their own thing.
But for me, there are moments where two big R&B shots need to sing together for more pleasure. Sometimes two are better than one.
Here are the reasons why I believe that Maxwell and Babyface should work together.
1) Babyface knows how to make love sweet love songs
2) Maxwell enjoys sweet love songs.
3) Babyface seems to have a need for a duet partner.
4) Maxwell and Babyface have ladies want to throw their panties at them.
5) They make sure that you feel something special with your love one.
These reasons alone should be why I believe that Babyface and Maxwell should make a song together.
Since Baby's voice is more smoother and Maxwell's voice is more raunchy, it is mixing milk and honey. It would be so magical and lovely for women. That way, they can have their imagination of romance in their hearts.
Babyface and Maxwell would be a perfect duo together.
Dream Duet: Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney
Hello everyone. I am so surprised that these two artists have never worked together. It is so interesting in my view.
These two artists did both worked with Michael Jackson and they came from big groups.
I am speaking of Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney. These are two artists who should be together in some project by now.
I believe their voices would meld into beautiful melody. As I say often, "opposites attract". Because Paul McCartney is much more experimental which obviously comes from being a former member of the Beatles. Lionel Richie is a smooth singer with some unique confidence that many singers are not capable of having that kind of confidence.
I have a belief that if Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney worked together, we could see some people definitively stand up and dance along. Also older people would love to see two legends to be together.
If I had to get a classic duet for the moment, it would have to be Lionel Richie and Paul McCartney.
Dream Duet: Christina Aguilera and Gloria Estefan
I am going to make a duet special that I never considered but I will do anyway. This duet should be in the works but it will never be. Plus it is a combination of a young lady and older lady together.
I am speaking about Christina Aguilera and Gloria Estefan.
These two stars should make songs together. Because I believe that their hispanic heritage and their voices would meld together. Also furthermore, I see unbelievable confidence in both of these stars.
Also I know that Christina Aguilera has a open sound. She has gone from pop music to hip hop music to disco music to dance music. I mean Christina has shown that she has a wide interest in music.
Gloria Estefan would be the next person that she can go with. Gloria is an American artist with a lot of love for Salsa Music. I think Christina should try this music to give an experience into her career with genres that she has done for some time.
I know that Christina and Gloria have very strong voices and their passionate voices will equal some beautiful melody.
Can you imagine Christina Aguilera and Gloria Estefan together. It would pure entertainment and great pleasure.
Dream Trio: Josky Kiambukuta, Nyboma, Tabu Ley
I cannot believe this event never happened. I mean songs where we would hear the voices of Josky, Nyboma and Tabu Ley singing together.
I know Josky and Tabu Ley sang together on a collaboration work of Tabu Ley with Josky's boss Franco. I mean the two works of Josky, Franco and Michelino trio work.
Tabu Ley and Nyboma did a song called Sacramento which was a hot song in 1986 and many people love hearing this song. It also showed people that Tabu Ley was cool with young people.
Josky and Nyboma did songs together in the 2003 to 2005 period. It was very good with Nyboma on backup vocals with Wuta Mayi and Sergie Kiambukuta with Josky on lead vocals.
Now imagine if we had Josky with Nyboma and Tabu Ley as back up singers or all them singing together at the same time, it would something classic and a great musical event for all Africans to listen to.
Don't forget that these three singers would make a splash together if they did sang together.
It could look like this. Nico and Tabu Ley together.
Dream Trio: Josky Kiambukuta, Koffi Olomide, Madilu System
This post will make OK Jazz fans and Koffi fans not happy but I am doing this anyway and for a good reason.
Listen to this snippet of Josky Kiambukuta, Koffi Olomide, and Madilu System singing together of Koffi's classic song Ngobila which was in 1986. This video was in 1992.
Original version 1986 with Josky Kiambukuta
Check and listen to this 1992 short video version
This is what I call great magic. It is example of beautiful melody between Josky Kiambukuta "Djo Sex", Koffi Olomide "Mopao Mokonzi" and Madilu System "La Grande Ninja". Josky was the great sex symbol with his great songs and his strong imposing voice, Koffi was a boss in his genre and Madilu was a open arrogant man with a powerful voice.
Which is why I am very mad that these three men did not make a song or even a LP together. I mean character wise Koffi Olomide and Madilu System are very similar. They were both arrogant and they believed they are above others. Madilu in particular displayed his arrogance throughout the years. Koffi is just more relaxed about it and he does not show like Madilu did.
Now put these two arrogant men with a more confident yet less arrogant man Josky Kiambukuta, you got magic in my view. In fact opposites attract. Josky and Madilu was a great duo-ship. I mean Josky's relaxing attitude and Madilu's overly shown confidence was what combined to great music. Listen to their 1989 classic CD "Destin" if you have it.
Want my review of Destin LP original. Check it here
Now imagine you add Mopao Mokonzi in the mix of Josky and Madilu musical class, you got something unique. Because Koffi did have a good voice to be the middle range or somewhat high range. Plus Koffi also paired very well with Josky Kiambukuta. If you listen to Koffi's early songs with Josky, you will see that Josky and Koffi duo-ship was pure pleasure.
Now imagine some trio moment where you had a LP where you can bring the Shaba Rhythm of Josky with Tcha-Tcho of Koffi Olomide and then the Mayeno dance of Madilu, now you got a festival. More importantly, their voices would mold into magic. Josky's flexible voice, Koffi's more poetic singing with Madilu's husky voice goes into music that you can enjoy and you can dance to. More importantly, their personalities meld into musical heaven. The chemistry would top notch in my opinion.
If there was one trio ship that should have occurred was Josky Kiambukuta, Koffi Olomide, and Madilu System together in some classic songs like Ngobila.
Dream Trio: Franco, Josky Kiambukuta, Michelino
I actually never imagined really of Franco, Josky and Michelino together as singers.
Until I started hearing Michelino's voice. I actually love Michelino's voice. It actually it is a rougher version of Madilu's voice. Since Madilu has so many fans, why not mention that Michelino's voice sounds very similar to Madilu.
This is why I wished this moment would have occurred. I wish that Michelino would have sang with Djo Sex Kiambukuta and Grand Maitre Franco. They would have been in melody. More importantly, you have two guitarists singing together which usually does not happen.
Franco and Michelino were genius when they played guitar together and I have always said that Franco was best when he played with Michelino. Better than Dizzy Mandjeku or Gerry Dialunguna, or even Papa Noel. Papa Noel was the one who sometimes overshadowed Franco. He did. '
Imagine they sang together, I think we would have some beautiful melody. After all, as I already Michelino sounds like Madilu. Believe me. Michelino is slightly more harsher in his voice than Madilu was.
Josky would be the perfect third man because his voice was smooth and outgoing and able to compliment any singers. I believe Josky would have been perfect with Franco and Michelino.
Just imagine
A trio with Franco, Josky and Michelino.
Dream Trio: Josky Kiambukuta, Malage du Legendo, Nyoka Longo
I think this moment should have happened and I am livid that this never occurred during our life time. Seriously these three singers would have fitted as a great trio.
I am speaking of Zaiko Langa Langa leader Nyoka Longo, OK Jazz alum Josky Kiambukuta and former OK Jazz and Zaiko Langa Langa singer Malage de Lugendo.
Because these three men would have been a little like MAMAKI. That was a trio for a side project that consisted of Josky Kiambukuta, Mayaula Mayoni and Youlou Mabiala.
Now this MAMAKI group would be the Soukous version. Josky was good and expert like of Rumba music. But Josky was pretty impressive a few of his Soukous songs. Like Maby.
I could imagine Maby or even Serrer Serrer sang with Malage and Nyoka Longo because I know Longo despite his not so special voice, he could be able to hit some medium notes with Malage hitting high notes.
Just look at the possibility with them singing Baby. With Madilu as well around 1992 or 1993 period.
Dream Trio: Josky Kiambukuta, Mayaula Mayoni, Nzaya Nzayadio
No way that this would be possible but I think so. Because these three singers are similar but one singer is much is the diverse and the other two can follow.
Josky Kiambukuta is the diverse singer that I am speaking about. His voice especially during his legendary days, he could do high notes, medium notes and low notes so easily.
Mayaula Mayoni was a guitarist that happened to have a powerful voice and he loved to experiment with his voice. Again he is like Madilu in many ways. You really don't know how his voice will be. It never stayed consistent. It constantly changed and changed dramatically.
Nzaya Nzayadio is what I would call "the Pepe Kalle" but in a rougher way. No kidding. Pepe Kalle was a smoother singer but Nzaya was much aggressive with his voice. So this way, if you think he is all like Pepe Kalle, think again. Nzaya is like Pepe as a baritone but he is more aggressive.
Now imagine put these three singers together and get them to sing together, it would be just a fun thing. Because Josky and Nzaya are both Veve products with a former soccer player with an mind of a poet doctor in a more literal way.
Together, I know that they would be able sing with their stong voices together. They would be able to enjoy each other's company.
Josky's diverse voice with Nzaya's excellent Pepe Kalle like sound with his own twist as well as Mayoni's experimental voice, it would equal some great chemistry and great moments while they are singing together with their solo vocals.
Just understand it in your heads. Josky Kiambukuta, Mayaula Mayoni and Nzaya Nzayadio together.

Notre Chanteuse Canadienne Celine Dion.
Celine Dion has a rough year start in 2016
2016 has been a sour start for Celine Dion. Just days after the death of her husband of René Angélil, one of her siblings passed away also from cancer as well. We are speaking about Daniel Dion. Céline Dion has been going through tough times as two people that I know she loved were going through cancer.
Previous posts about Celine's husband
Now with both of them passed on, I know it will be a tough time for Celine Dion. It is so difficult to bear with losing her people in this world. But I believe that Celine Dion will bounce back.
She is a survivor and she is strong. I believe that Celine Dion will overcome these deaths and use them as inspiration for her new music whenever it comes.
Good luck to Celine Dion.
Which is why I will make her a important focus on my serious "Dream Duets".

Rene Angelil is gone
Hello friends before I release my other posts that are coming. I got sad news to speak to you and I need to announce myself.
René Angélil who was better known as Celine Dion's husband and manager has passed away. He was 73 years old. He was actually two days before what would have been his 74th birthday. Regardless, he was a former singer involved in a group called Les Baronets. It was a band from 1962 to 1972. Since then he got more into business and he discovered one person whom I will mention in my dream duet series. Celine Dion.
They became more than just a client relationship. They became a couple and they got married in 1994. René had been married twice before but his third marriage was better for him as he and Celine produced about three sons in their lives. I know some people hate Celine Dion due to this marriage since René is literally 26 years older than Celine. Celine Dion is about 47 years old now.
Regardless, René Angélil was essentially important for the success of Celine Dion. His calm and his patience helped Celine Dion broom into the great diva she is today. I am not saying that Celine is not responsible for her own success but I am saying the marketing and the direction of her life came from Mr. René himself. That is the point that I want to push for everyone to understand.
I hope that Celine Dion will remain strong. It will be a tough time for her. Let's give her time to heal and that way she can come back with her angelic voice.
